SAN FRANCISCO -- After months of searching, Brian Weaver and The Cubby Creatures have finally found a space that will allow them to have their CD release party for the recently completed "Embryo:03 Compilation," which Weaver has spent the better part of the year working on.

According to Weaver, the show had been originally booked at CELLspace here in San Francisco for July 28, but "...we decided to cancel it because they wouldn't let us drink beer and they wanted us to provide our own security guards," Weaver stated.

Not wanting to hold the potential five-hour event somewhere that does not allow alcohol, Weaver and The Cubby Creatures decided to look elsewhere. What they ended up finding was a space in Oakland called Vulcan Studios.

"Apparently they have shows there, like, every Friday night," Weaver pointed out.

Vulcan Studios is a warehouse in West Oakland where the inhabitants run an Internet radio station and hold music events on a weekly basis. What's more is that the people who live at Vulcan Studios are allowing Weaver and The Cubby Creatures to have their event on September 22.

"I really don't think it could be more perfect. The space is great, and September 22 is the autumnal equinox. It seems serendipitous, because the Embryo is inherently associated with metaphysical qualities," Weaver remarked.

There will be twelve bands/projects performing at the "Embryo Compilation:03" show, including The Cubby Creatures. The Cubby Creatures will be giving away a copy of the CD to the first two hundred people who arrive. The event is to begin at 8pm and end after the last band performs.
