It's been eventful times in the Cubby lately.

Brian Weaver got married to Alissa.

Past and Present Cubby Creatures came together for a three-day recording session, creating music for a forthcoming album tentatively entitled "SELF."

Ronald Bonemaker, the Cubby Party's presidential candidate, dropped out of the race and announced he was in full support of Obama and would be honored to be his V.P. or to help out in any other little way he could in the Obama Administration.

Brian and Jol established a commission to begin initial work on volume 2 of Cubby Missalet 19.

Songs from "JCYC" got past security and were leaked to reviewers who say they're amazing and some of the cubby creatures' best work. The project looms somewhere near completion and an EP of the rock opera, including slated storytelling by k.m. soehnlein, is due out later this year!

Huck Forest was not injured badly in his scuffle with Chinese police at the Olympic Bird's Nest, where Huck was lighting his pubic hair on fire in protest of "the Tibet thing and the Darfur thing" which he called "lamentable, tragic, and just so 20th century."

The zine fest was a big hoot, Brian Weaver reports. But check out his new Daily Discharge at cubby.net and see how the poor kid can't get any love from Wired.

And it was 11 years ago today that Brian Weaver and Jol first had their vision of the Virgin Mary, from which was born the first Cubby Bible installment. The Cubby Bible will be available online soon, Mr. Weaver tells us.

And that's the News from the Cubby, that little place carved out in space where life is all that matters.
