NEW YORK -- Cubby.net quietly and with no hype relaunched on the afternoon of
Monday, January 26, 2004. "By the way, the new site's up if you want to look at it," Brian Weaver offhandedly quipped at around 2:53 pm (PST) that day in an email addressed to New York Cubby operative Jol. With a facelift by Brian Weaver, the new incarnation of cubby.net is, according to not-yet-released promotional materials "designed to provide a comprehensive cubby archive, an exhibition space for emerging people, and a daily dose of up-to-the-minute cubby inspiration." "New columns are being launched, updates are happening consistently; it's becoming a popping thing," said Jol, who was spotted in New York City's Chinatown carrying a Stackhouse bag and a jade plant. We'll keep an eye on this growing phenomenon. |
