NEW YORK -- "In light of recent events I am reminded of past misdeeds, and I wanted to
officially apologize to anyone I may have offended by showing my cock on the 14 Mission
bus on the night of September 17th, 1997." Those were the words of Charlie Danger, who spoke, looking tired and haggard and featuring dark circles under his eyes, in a just-released videotaped statement broadcast by the Yuddle network last night. "To the bus driver, to Muni, to anyone who was riding the bus that day or who might have seen in through the window as it was passing by, to anyone who heard about it and was upset, I offer my sincerest apologies," Mr. Danger continued, at times dabbing his eyes as if to catch tears. Critics of Mr. Danger charged that the apology was merely an attempt by Mr. Danger to get himself back into the spotlight by capitalizing on Janet Jackson’s Superbowl breast baring, which earlier this week dominated the news and raised the ire of some breast-fearing Americans. "Charlie's career has been in a downslide since 1997," said one unnamed critic. "Unlike Ms. Jackson, Charlie has nothing to lose by a public apology." "The thing is, I just couldn't keep it in my pants back then," Mr. Danger said in his videotaped statement. In the past Mr. Danger has stated that he was much influenced by then-President Bill Clinton. "He really inspired me to challenge a lot of sexual boundaries with semantics," Mr. Danger stated in a 2002 email, reflecting on the former commander-in-chief. |
