Every month we feature a new song given to us by a select artist we're proud to showcase.
This month we're excited to present "It's Fucking Long Today" by The Cubby Creatures, which will hopefully someday be officially released on the "Rarities" album.

"It's Fucking Long Today" was assembled by Brian and Matt as one of the two Cubby Creatures' contributions for the embryo.2 compilation, released in early 1999. Similar to to their other contribution on the embryo.2 compilation, "In Defense of Lying," "It's Fucking Long Today" was an audio collage. As the story goes regarding this piece, Brian tought he heard Emily saying, in the background of one of their rehearsal tapes which is used as the base of this collage, "It's Fucking Long Today." That was most likely not what she was saying, but it sounded so odd and perfect, that Brian thought he would title this piece after what he thought he heard Emily saying.

Brian and Jol have decided to start posting some of the many unreleased Cubby Creatures recordings as part of the Song of the Month project, so check back in the following months to hear some Cubby Creatures Rarities (past and present)!
