Weaver continues the tradition of collecting homemade music by musicians and artists within his circle of friends for Embryo 4, but this time he has limited the range to those who live in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Even though most of the contributors on the previous Embryo compilations were from the Bay Area, this was the first time Weaver declared that the compilation would be expressly Bay Area artists.) The disc was mastered at Rodent Records by Bill Fisher. The cover art was designed by Andrew Poisoner and the inside art by Alec Way. A. Mach assisted with art direction.
